Jimmy Barnes Reboots Like Music In Victoria With Sounds Better Together
Live music sounds good, doesn’t it … and its back. Jimmy Barnes headlined the first of the 21 Sounds Better Together concerts at the Rochford Winery in Victoria’s Yarra Valley.
Victoria’s music fans are descending on venues all over the state as the Andrews’ government brings back live music with the 21 Sounds Better Together initiative. On Saturday, while Jimmy Barnes was rocking the Yarra Valley Missy Higgins took over Geelong.
The Barnes event featured new band Darlinghurst, Australia’s Queen’s of Soul Vika & Linda and the world’s best kept secret The Teskey Brothers. ....

2021 Sounds Better Together concert to be broadcast on TV

2021 Sounds Better Together – the concert series collaboration between Mushroom Group and the Victorian Government – will have one of its concerts aired live on TV.
Mushroom Group founder and chairman Michael Gudinski said in a press release, “I’m thrilled that with this Nine broadcast everyone across Australia has an opportunity to experience the 2021 Sounds Better Together Shows, even if they can’t be at them in person.”

Nine program director Hamish Turner added, “Live music is such an important part of Australian culture.
“I hope by broadcasting… we can remind audiences of their love for live music and that we have hope for a better year for all ahead.” ....

2021 is a milestone year for Ross Wilson as he celebrated 50 years since the release of his Daddy Cool classic ‘Eagle Rock’.

On Monday, Mushroom Group and Visit Victoria turned the lights back on in the State of music, announcing
2021 SOUNDS BETTER TOGETHER, a concert series spanning eight days at some of Victoria’s most spectacular venues.
Today, a further five gigs have been added to the program between Saturday 23 and Saturday 30 January, taking in iconic venues around the State from the stunning Forum Melbourne to Castlemaine’s Theatre Royal, Warrnambool’s The Whalers Hotel, San Remo’s Westernport Hotel and St Kilda’s famous Prince Bandroom and Esplanade Hotel.
Kicking off in a matter of days, the just-announced shows will star a selection of Australia’s finest talent; Something for Kate with Hayley Mary, The Living End with Bakers Eddy, Ross Wilson with Fergus James, Pierce Brothers with Shannen James, Alex Lahey with Scott Darlow, and Didirri and Mia Wray.
