Gov. Tom Wolf visited Penn State University on Wednesday, where he and football coach James Franklin encouraged college students to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Now that college students are eligible to get vaccinated, it is really important to make this a priority. When you get vaccinated, of course you re protecting yourself. But when you get vaccinated, you re also protecting the people around you, including family members who are under 16 and can t yet get the vaccination, Wolf said.The more people are fully vaccinated, the better the chance of Beaver Stadium being full for the home opener. We want our Ball State game on Sept. 11 to be our first family reunion in almost two years, and we want Beaver Stadium and all of Happy Valley rocking, Franklin said. DONEGAL SWIMMERS compete even though their school has no official team


As high school swimmers across the Susquehanna Valley get ready for district championships on March 6, one group does so with a particular set of challenges.Donegal High School seniors Claire O Neill and Jordynn Park were double winners at the Lancaster-Lebanon League swimming championships two weeks ago and contenders for district gold.The duo excels despite the fact that Donegal doesn’t have an official swim team.“Because we don t have a pool, and we don’t have a pool that we can rent, that makes us a non-swim school. If we could find a pool, if somebody would let us in, we would love to have a team,” coach Alison Kreider said.O’Neill, Park and their seven teammates must practice separately at their own swim clubs. The athletes then come together for meets, where the only events they can t compete in are relays.“Everyone is kind of just, like, doing their own sort of training before coming together.
