Oklahoma State University announced an incentive program to encourage students to get the COVID-19 vaccine by offering them football tickets, iPads, scholarships and more.According to OSU, the Poke-a-Thon contest is open to fully vaccinated, OSU-Stillwater students actively enrolled for the fall 2021 semester. To participate, students must provide proof of full vaccination to OSU University Health Services. That enters students into a weekly raffle, which begins Aug. 18 and runs for eight weeks. Oklahoma’s early success in providing COVID-19 shots has waned in recent weeks, with appointments at mass-vaccine events slowing and public health officials making targeted pitches about the importance of the vaccine.
The two-week pause in administering the Johnson & Johnson vaccine after concerns over a rare blood clot linked to that vaccine contributed to the slowdown, officials said. Despite that, all three approved vaccines – the two-dose Pfizer and Moderna and the one-dose Johnson & Johnson – are available again across the state. ....

OSU Stillwater Campus COVID-19 Vaccine Pod Now Open To The Public
On Thursday, the Oklahoma State University Stillwater campus opens its COVID-19 vaccine pod to the public for the first time. OSU officials said they expect up to 2,000 people to come through the arena to get their single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
The university’s “vaccine pod” in the Gallagher Iba Arena has been open to all students, employees and employee’s families for weeks, but now it is opening its vaccine doses to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday.
OSU has partnered with IMMY Labs and the Payne County Health Department to provide the Johnson & Johnson vaccine to anyone who wants it in an easy one-stop-shop. All participants have to pre-register online to get an appointment, you cannot just walk in. ....
