Williamson County officials expect to get a federal extension that will give them another year to spend the $30 million the county has left in CARES Act money.
If President Donald Trump signs the $900 billion stimulus package that was approved by Congress, the county will have until Dec. 31, 2021, to spend the rest of its CARES money.
The county previously had a  deadline of the end of this year to spend the money.  
The commissioners on Tuesday voted to extend by six months the county s contract with Family Emergency Room to provide testing for coronavirus. Commissioners also approved adding $200,000 to the contract for testing. ....
