BETHEL - A small plane operated by an Alaska regional airline veered off the runway in Chevak on Friday while the pilot was trying to take off, officials said.
Chevak Vice Mayor Ulrich Ulroan said he believed there were no injuries when the Grant Aviation plane went off the runway, damaging its left wing. It was unclear how many passengers and crew were on the plane at the time.
Ulroan added that there were strong crosswinds as the plane tried to take off. ....

On Feb. 6, 2020, Yute Air Flight 1002 crashed about 12 miles from Tuntutuliak, killing the pilot and all four passengers. It was Alaska’s first fatal plane crash of the year, but media attention was brief. New pilot program for rapid testing in schools
Starting in mid-March, rapid COVID-19 tests will be offered at two Calgary schools to help assess rapid on-site testing in schools.

More than 100,000 kits will be made available for this pilot program. Rapid tests will be offered every week for up to three weeks to screen students with no symptoms.
