Today, Tasmania will reach a major milestone – 50 per cent of eligible Tasmanians will have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by the end of the day.
Premier Peter Gutwein said this puts Tasmania well ahead of the national average of just over 41 per cent.
“I am very thankful that Tasmanians are hearing our message and they are taking action to protect themselves, their loved ones and our community,” Mr Gutwein said.
“Importantly 25 per cent of Tasmanians have now had their second dose as well meaning that one in four eligible Tasmanians are now fully vaccinated, and that we are well on the way to giving us the very best chance of combatting COVID-19. ....

Vaccinating Tasmanians 28 July

Tasmanians have a long and proud history of rolling up their sleeves to get vaccinated, and as we’ve responded to the COVID-19 pandemic, they have once again heard the message and taken action to protect themselves, their loved ones and our community.
Since the beginning of what is one of the largest health logistics exercises in the country’s history, Tasmania has been leading the way, using as many of the vaccines that we’ve been supplied, and now passing two significant milestones.
During last week, a record-breaking 24,000 vaccines in a week (more than 3,400 a day) were delivered, and we also passed a total of 300,000 doses administered on Sunday, while 200,000 Tasmanians have received at least one dose. This week will also see us pass 100,000 Tasmanians fully vaccinated. ....

Continuing to protect Tasmanians from COVID-19 24 July

The health and safety of Tasmanians remains our number one priority as we continue to respond to the developing COVID-19 outbreaks in other states.
The virus continues to cause challenges across Australia, with three states in lockdown, and my thoughts are with the people of Victoria, South Australia, and Victoria as they act to bring the virus under control.
We know that swift action works, and while the situation in Victoria and South Australia is looking encouraging, our border restrictions with all three states will remain unchanged, meaning no one from those states are able to enter Tasmania unless approved by the Deputy State Controller. ....
