Public Servants Are In Line For A Pay Rise Next Year

The proposals were outlined at a meeting of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions Public Services Committee, after talks at the Workplace Relations Commission ended in the early hours of this morning. They include two one per cent pay increases - worth 500 euro - one in October of next year, with the second pay rise in October 2022. Unions say this would mean public servants on lower incomes will receive a significantly larger percentage increase than higher paid staff. There will also be the potential for a further 1 per cent rise in February 2022 - however, this will be based on sectoral bargaining. The package includes commitments to establish an independent body to in March to ....

Public servants set for two 1pc pay rises in new wage deal


The proposed new agreement called Building Momentum: A New Public Sector Agreement will succeed the Public Service Stability agreement, which expires at the end of this month.
Key elements of the proposed deal were outlined by union negotiators at a meeting of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions’ Public Services Committee today.
Talks at the Workplace Relations Commission ended in the early hours of this morning.
The four chief negotiators told the union meeting that Building Momentum: A New Public Sector Agreement was a “positive short-term package” negotiated against a difficult background.
In a statement, the committee said the new proposals would “build on the momentum of recent pay restoration and public service flexibility and service quality”. ....
