A weekend accident in Angelina County involving four vehicles has now claimed a second life. Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant David Hendry said Tuesday that 33-year-old Alicia Stephenson, of Portage, Wisconsin, died in a Houston hospital on Monday.
A passenger in Stephenson’s vehicle, only described as a 13-year-old girl, died in the crash which occurred at about 4:00 Sunday afternoon on U.S. Highway 59, just south of the Lufkin city limits.
Hendry said it began when a tire blew out on a northbound 2017 Ford F-350 pickup truck, driven by Gabrila Godoy, 30, of Lufkin. Hendry said the truck went across the median and into the southbound lanes where it collided head-on with a 2014 Dodge pickup truck, driven by Alicia Stephenson, 33, of Portage, Wisconsin. ....
