There was a racist graffiti incident at Albion College in Michigan. It was some pretty nasty stuff. There were Ku Klux Klan references and other racist phrases. Students boycotted class. It stirred up a whole mess of trouble and after a brief investigation, it was all a hoax. A black student admitted to the whole thing. He’s been removed from campus and placed on temporary suspension as the school further investigates how this circus came to town (via Daily Caller):

Albion is racist we do exist KKK said one of the graffitti A Black student was reportedly responsible for racist graffiti discovered at Albion College in Michigan. According to
MLive, on April 2,
slogans such as KKK, White Power, and Die N rs Please! were discovered in Mitchell Towers, a residence hall.
As a result of the messages, hundreds of students boycotted class and marched on campus for three consecutive days.
Many chanted silence is violence!
The school quickly launched an investigation and discovered that a student of color was responsible for the graffiti.
According to student newspaper

REPORT: Black Student Was Responsible For Racist 'KKK' Graffiti Found On College Campus


The student that police brought in for questioning was soon released and once an investigation is complete, the Calhoun County Prosecutor’s Office will determine whether charges will be pressed, M Live reported.
The Albion College Pleiad, the campus’ student newspaper, reported that President Mathew Johnson seto students and staff that identified the student behind the graffiti as a “student of color.”
“Earlier today, we identified the individual responsible for the racist and anti-Semitic graffiti in Mitchell Towers,” Johnson said via email, according to the Albion College Pleiad.
“The student, who was acting alone, acknowledged their responsibility for these incidents, and was immediately removed from campus and placed on temporary suspension while we conduct a full investigation as part of our student judicial process.”  ....
