Pub served with £,1,000 fixed penalty notice for breach of Covid rules

A licensed premises in Ffostrasol has been served  a £1,000 fixed penalty notice and issued with a premises improvement notice, after customers were discovered drinking inside the building.
On Friday 30 April, as part of checks leading up to the May Bank Holiday weekend, officers from Ceredigion’s Public Protection Team were carrying out routine joint patrols with officers from Dyfed-Powys Police.
They found a small number of customers drinking inside the premises of the Ffostrasol Arms, and not following the rules on keeping a social distance and wearing face coverings.
The requirement for hospitality businesses to stay closed had only just been eased that week to allow businesses such as licensed premises to reopen their outdoor areas, said a spokesperson for Ceredigion County Council. ....

Customers were caught fleeing through the fire escape of a salon in south Wales after police were called following reports it was open despite the lockdown.
The owner of Euphoria Tanning Hair and Beauty, in Cwmbran, was hit with a £1,000 fine for a blatant breach of coronavirus regulations.
Police were called to the salon on Saturday, January 16, and officers saw people entering through the front door, though when the attempted to gain entry, those inside did not respond.
Once inside, officers found the tanning beds had recently been used and beauty treatments had been taking place. CCTV footage showed eight people running from the salon out the fire exit. ....

Salon in Cwmbran fined for breaking lockdown restrictions


Once inside, officers found the tanning beds had recently been used and beauty treatments had been taking place. CCTV footage showed eight people running from the salon out the fire exit.
Following an investigation, the owner of the salon was fined - it was the second time they have been fined breaching coronavirus restrictions.
Three customers were also fined, while enquiries are ongoing to identify the others present, Gwent Police said.
Torfaen Inspector Aled George said: “This was a blatant breach of Covid-19 regulations. Businesses who flout the regulations are behaving irresponsibly and putting the lives of their customers, staff and the wider community at risk. ....

Wrexham Council have said two businesses on Chester Street in Wrexham town centre, “Fresh Fades barbers shop and Lash Lab beauticians have each been served with a fixed penalty notice for £1000 for opening their premises and serving customers during the current lockdown”.
In a statement Wrexham council have said, “The law is quite clear that certain premises may not open and serve customers at the present time to prevent the spread of coronavirus. It’s also very clear that people should only be leaving their homes for essential purposes. ....
