Revamped Chinchilla Weir to entice more people outdoors

Western Downs Regional Council is encouraging more people to head outdoors and explore the region’s fantastic recreational facilities, with a range of upgrades completed at Chinchilla Weir.
Council partnered with the Australian Government to fast-track a $1.9 million revamp of the popular spot as part of its COVID-19 Recovery Package to secure and create jobs and enhance the liveability of the region.
Council Spokesperson for Recreational Spaces and Cemeteries Councillor Carolyn Tillman said the upgrades had revitalised the facility and enhanced recreational opportunities for the region.
“This project has delivered a revamped facility perfect for a weekend camping adventure or simply for a picnic lunch by the water, and we are proud to celebrate our natural environment and heritage,” Cr Tillman said. ....
