Woman suffers head injury in two-vehicle collision


North Yorkshire Police have launched the appeal
POLICE are appealing for information after a woman suffered a minor head injury as a result of a road traffic collision in Ripon.
The incident occurred yesterday (March 31) ar around 9.45pm near to the River Laver Holiday Park and involved a grey Fiat 500 car and a van.
The van, described as a drop-side van with a white cab and silver sides, failed to stop after the collision and continued driving towards Ripon city centre, police said.
The 22-year-old female driver of the Fiat 500 suffered head injuries which are believed to have been caused by unsecured timber falling from the rear of the van onto the car’s windscreen. ....

Police cannot ask vehicle documents in middle of road


Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai issues statement in Legislative Council
Bengaluru: If you have not violated any traffic law, the Traffic Police cannot stop you just to check your documents. Home Minister
Basavaraj Bommai has said that the Traffic Police are not supposed to ask for vehicle documents after they stop the vehicles in the middle of the road.
He was answering JD(S) MLC H.M. Ramesh Gowda’s query during ‘Question Hour’ in the Legislative Council yesterday. 
“It has come to my notice that the Traffic Police are stopping the vehicles in the middle of the road in instances of the traffic rules violation. Police should take precautionary measures to avoid accidents and other untoward incidents while stopping vehicles. Policies should be followed in such situations. In this regard, suitable directions have been given to the Department,” he said. ....
