June Mummery explained that while her fishers are subject to Marine Management fishing rules which monitor how much fish they catch, some European ships do not dock in the UK and so their hauls cannot be counted. As a result, the UK is reliant on the EU Commission to tell them how much fish has been caught in British waters with some arguing the figures may not be accurate. June Mummery then exploded at former Brexit MEP Ben Habib over the woeful unpreparedness of the UK government to tackle these and other issues. ....

Bruges Group social and political commentator Dr Niall McCrae insisted Boris Johnson s Brexit fishing deal was not good enough for the UK fishing industry. During an interview with Express.co.uk, he claimed UK fishermen could demonstrate at the next G7 summit which is set to take place in Cornwall in June. Responding to the news, former Brexit Party MEP Martin Daubney branded the agreement a sell-out and a bitter disappointment for the British fishing industry. He said: The Great Fisheries Sell-Out: the Brexit Deal guarantees the EU 5 1/2 years continued access to British waters. So 4 1/2 years from Brexit that is a total of a decade of EU vessels plundering our waters. This will be a bitter disappointment for our fishermen. ....
