A routine traffic stop in Hicksville ended with felony assault charges against an Edgerton woman early Monday morning.
Miranda L. Sponseller, 38, of Edgerton, was stopped by a Hicksville police officer at approximately 2 a.m. Monday.
“It was for marked lanes violation,” Hicksville Police Chief Mark Denning said. “She was arrested and charged with OVI but then she resisted and assaulted the officer.”
No injuries were reported at the scene.
Sponseller was charged with misdemeanor OVI, open container and resisting, as well as fourth-degree felony assault. She was taken to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio and later released. ....
