Investigators have publicly identified a man who was shot and killed by police after he drove a vehicle into the front of the Leicester Police Station, rammed the doors and later pointed what appeared to be a firearm at responding officers.Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. s Office identified the man as Zachary Richardson, 24, of Leicester. “All and all he was a good kid,” said Wayne Dufault, who knew Richardson. “I don’t think anyone really seen it coming.”“He just seems like somebody who may have gone down the wrong path,” said Zackery Squires, who also knew Richardson. Early said Richardson crashed into the front of the station with an SUV at 6:13 a.m. Sunday and then repeatedly drove into the front doors until he gained entry into the building.Leicester police Chief Kenneth Antanavica says the front doors to the police station are made of steel and both open outward. Police Shoot And Kill Man Who Drove SUV Into Leicester Police Station, State Investigating

A man was fatally shot by police in the small town of Leicester early Sunday morning after he drove his SUV through the front doors of the Leicester police station, got out of the vehicle, and aimed what appeared to be a rifle at officers who responded to the scene, law enforcement authorities say.
A spokesman for the Worcester County District Attorney identified the man on Monday as 24-year-old Zachary Richardson, of Leicester.
Photos of the scene taken by a photographer for the Telegram & Gazette show a silver Toyota FJ Cruiser facing the front entrance of the building, with its double doors bashed in and debris strewn around the opening which leads to the lobby. The man who was fatally shot by police in Leicester Sunday morning drove an SUV up a handicap ramp and repeatedly rammed the doors of the police station, authorities said.
That man, who police have not yet publicly identified, then popped out of the SUV and “immediately shouldered what appeared to be a rifle and aimed it at the police officers,” Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. said. ....
