This week's SDSU Extension Crop Hour looks at understanding research data needed for decision making

Big data and agriculture often go hand in hand in today’s modern farming era, but wading through statistical terminology and big data sets to interpret results can be overwhelming, says SDSU Extension Plant Pathology Field Specialist Connie Strunk.
To provide some insight, Strunk and her colleagues will focus the March 9-12 Crop Hour series to “Understanding SDSU Extension Agronomy Research.”
The virtual programs run from 10-11am CST each day and will cover the following topics:
March 9: “Understanding Ag Research,” Sara Bauder, SDSU Extension Agronomy Field Specialist
March 10: “Soybean Gall Midge Sampling,” Adam Varenhorst, Assistant Professor and SDSU Extension Field Crop Entomologist; “Soybean On-Farm Research Opportunities,” Connie Strunk, SDSU Extension ....

Minnesota Crop Improvement to hold annual meeting Wednesday via Zoom

HIGHEST CROP ACHIEVEMENT HONOR: At its annual meeting last year, the Minnesota Crop Improvement Association gave its highest honor, the Achievement in Crop Improvement Award, to Dahlco Seeds of Cokato. Honored were (from left) Tammi and Duane Dahlman and Kevin and Nancy Dahlman. The 2021 winner will be announced Jan. 13.
The two-hour virtual meeting will include recognition of award winners.

The Minnesota Crop Improvement Association will convene its 118th annual meeting Jan. 13.
The meeting, which all MCIA members are encouraged to attend, will be held virtually, via Zoom. For those who have not been able to attend an MCIA annual meeting in the past, the virtual format provides an opportunity to participate. ....
