Judge denies attempts from rally lawsuit defendant to subpoena officials


A federal judge has denied attempts from rally lawsuit defendant and fake news purveyor Jim Hoft to subpoena a slew of state and local officials.
Hoft, of The Gateway Pundit, is among various defendants in the Gilmore v. InfoWars lawsuit, which was filed on behalf of Brennan Gilmore, a former U.S. Foreign Service officer who was the subject of various false articles in the wake of the 2017 Unite the Right rally.
After Gilmore witnessed and filmed the Aug. 12, 2017, car attack that killed counterprotester Heather Heyer, the defendants started spreading conspiracies about Gilmore, which led to death threats against him and his family, according to the suit. ....

Virginia Governor Race: McAuliffe Leads Dems in Fundraising – NBC4 Washington


McAuliffe, the former governor and prodigious Democratic Party fundraiser who is seeking a second term in office, continues to lead the pack in both receipts and cash on hand at the end of the latest reporting period, though GOP nominee Glenn Youngkin brought in an even bigger haul.
McAuliffe, widely considered the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination, raised about $2.8 million in cash over the period from April 1 to May 27, according to an accounting by the Virginia Public Access Project, a nonpartisan tracker of money in politics.
That s more than three times what his closest Democratic competitor, former Del. Jennifer Carroll Foy, brought in about $876,000 in cash. ....
