PKR's Sekijang MP among four questioned by MACC over RM10mil bribe allegation

JOHOR BARU: The Malaysian Anti -Corruption Commission (MACC) Johor has recorded the statements of four people in connection with a report of an RM10mil bribe that was allegedly offered to PKR’s Sekijang MP Natrah Ismail for her to switch sides.
Johor MACC director Datuk Azmi Alias said all the witnesses involved, including Natrah, had been called to record their statements.
“The first phase of the investigation has been completed and the investigation paper has been handed over to the Attorney General s Chambers (AGC).
We are still waiting for a decision from the AGC for further action, he said during a press conference after the MACC Corruption Prevention Awareness CD launching ceremony at the Johor MACC headquarters here on Monday (March 15). ....

Politicians should report 'offers' to jump, says MACC

JOHOR BARU: Politicians who claimed they been offered money to jumpship should report such cases to the Malaysian Anti -Corruption Commission (MACC).
MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention) Datuk Seri Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil said the majority of such claims never reached them and therefore remained just claims.
“There is a lot of talk on this issue but at the same time, not many have come forward to lodge a report on their case. Reports would only be made after they have received pressure from the public.
“The MACC headquarters has not received many reports on this matter. In our perspective, anyone can jump, it is up to them. But if the jump is motivated by a position offered or bribe, that is where we come in,” he said after the MACC Corruption Prevention Awareness CD launching ceremony at the Johor MACC headquarters here on Monday (March 15). ....

New Delhi [India], February 2 (ANI): Delhi Police Cyber Cell arrested a person on Monday from Rajasthan on charges of spreading fake news about resignations of police personnel due to the ongoing farmers agitation.
A social media campaign had been going on for the past two days propagating false rumours regarding disaffection in police ranks. Old, unrelated videos were being posted with fake news of the resignation of police personnel.
Cyber Prevention Awareness and Detection (CyPAD) unit of the Delhi Police registered a criminal case against Om Prakash Dhetarwal and later on arrested him. Om Prakash belongs to Churu District of Rajasthan. ....
