The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has brought its JustServe platform to the local community.
JustServe Specialist Shyla Till­ey, a local church member in Elizabethtown, said JustServe is a free, national website and mobile app that helps link local volunteers with service opportunities within their respective communities.
Tilley said the service is open to everyone and does not discriminate based on race, religion, gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation in posting projects or in encouraging volunteers to serve.
“JustServe is a free gift to the community launched by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2014 and supported by non-paid volunteers, like myself, because we feel service greatly blesses communities with increased strength, unity and love,” she said in an email. “We firmly believe that the ills of the world can be solved by following what Jesus taught were the two great commandments — to love the Lord our God ....
