Srinagar, July 9: A family from Hokersar-Shikargah area of Srinagar outskirts today alleged theft of gold worth lakhs of rupees, cash and pashmina shawls during the nocturnal raid on July 7 and July 8 by the men in uniform.
The distressed family members appealed to IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar and SSP Srinagar Sandeep Choudhary to investigate the matter and to book those involved in the theft.
The family members, women, girls and elderly, staged a protest at Press Colony Srinagar that at 1:40 am on July 7, men wearing Army uniform, holding guns in their hands, knocked the door of their house on the pretext of carrying out the search. ....

Anantnag Family Protests In Srinagar, Plead Innocence Of Their Son

Srinagar: Family members and relatives of Zahoor Ahmad Rather from Dooru area of Anantnag on MondayÂ staged a protestÂ at press colony Srinagar and demanded his release while insisting that Zahoor was associated with walnut trade and not any militant group.
While talking with reporters at Press Colony Srinagar,Â family of Zahor said that their son is innocent and has nothing to do with militancy since he surrendered in 2006.
They said that Zahoor was arrested from a rented accommodation in Jammu where he was selling walnuts in winters from last three to four years to earn livelihood ....
