National Accountability Bureau (NAB) summons Kaira today to record statement in Managing Director (MD) Pakistan Television Corporation (PTVC) case

ISLAMABAD – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Pakistan People’s Party senior leader Qamar Zaman Kaira today for recording his statement in an ongoing investigation against former Managing Director (MD) Pakistan Television Corporation (PTVC) Yousuf Baig Mirza regarding illegal use of expenditures and misappropriation in government funds. According to the call-up notice, the NAB Rawalpindi summoned Kaira in an investigation against Yousaf Baig Mirza and others regarding illegal expenditures of Rs 2379 million, misuse of authority in appointments through non-transparent manners and misappropriation of government funds. The notice says that during the proceedings of inquiry, it is revealed that in 2010, Qamar Zaman Kaira as Minister for Information proposed the pay package of accused Yousaf Baig Mirza (MD PTV) apparently on the directions of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani.
