Algae attack hits Chilean salmon giant – Fish Farmer Magazine

Salmones Camanchaca, one of Chile’s main salmon farming and processing companies, has been badly hit by an algal bloom invasion which is expected to cost the business at least US $3.5m (£2.53m).
The incidents occurred in the Los Lagos region in the south of the country and have led to the deaths, so far, of around 162,000 fish.
Another salmon company, Multiexport Foods, is also reported to have been affected and the mortality in this second incident is thought to be around 120 tonnes.
Algal blooms are a natural phenomenon which are very difficult to control or predict. They suck up so much oxygen in the water that the fish in farm cages suffocate. ....

But what the article fails to mention is that the Globe s airspace is divided in seamless zones called Flight Information Region, FIR. This just to make sure who s going to have a look in case something goes wrong. It has nothing to do with sovereignty. Chile has to receive the same acknowledgement if it wants to fly between Punta & MPA. Or if you want to fly to Canary Islands, you have to inform Morocco. So, once again Mr. Filmus and his mates managed to twist the truth for their benefit .

BUENOS AIRES (Reuters) - The German airline Lufthansa has asked the Argentine government for permission to overfly its country en route to the Falklands, Argentina said on Thursday, adding that the request implies recognition of Falklands “as part of Argentine territory,” the Foreign Ministry said.

Lufthansa, separately, said it made the request for two flights supporting a polar research expedition because the normal route via Cape Town has been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Argentina and Britain have long disputed ownership of the Falklands, with Argentina for decades claiming sovereignty over the British-run islands it calls the Malvinas. The dispute led to a brief war in 1982. ....

Argentina hails German Falklands travel request as support for sovereignty claim

Argentina has boasted of a diplomatic victory by claiming Germany asked for their permission - not Britain s - for a scientific ship to dock at the Falkland Islands.
In addition, German airline Lufthansa has asked for permission from Argentina for two flights from Hamburg to fly over the country en route to the Falklands. Argentina claimed this implied recognition of the Falklands as Argentine territory .
The German government is said to have asked for permission for the Polarstern research ship to dock in Port Stanley, the capital of the British-held territory.
The two, 15-hour flights are scheduled for 1 February and 30 March. ....
