Hundreds of Ergon Energy customers were impacted when a car knocked over the power pole on Victoria St about 8am. The power outage is still impacting 23 customers. The two people in the car, believed to be elderly, have been taken to Mackay Base Hospital in stable conditions. INITIAL 8.45AM: Paramedics are treating two people after a car mounted a footpath and ploughed into a power pole in the Mackay CBD. Emergency services rushed to Victoria St outside Bob Jane T-Marts about 8am following reports a car had crashed into a power pole. ....
Premium Content Subscriber only Traffic delays are expected in Paget and West Mackay after two separate crashes on Sunday afternoon. Emergency services were on scene at a two-car crash at the intersection of Archibald St and Maggiolo Dr, Paget about 3.40pm. A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said two crews were on scene assessing five people who were in stable conditions. All five are expected to be taken to hospital. It is understood the crash has left one lane completely blocked to traffic, with police on scene. Police were also called to conduct traffic control after a two-car crash reported at the intersection of Lagoon St and Nebo Rd, West Mackay just before 4pm. ....

RACQ CQ Rescue, who were called to the incident about 88km south of Mackay, said he suffered serious internal injuries and possible fractures. The rescue chopper was called in by Queensland Health about 12.15pm on Saturday and landed on a remote beach at low tide for the retrieval. The on-board doctor and paramedic treated the teen for about 30 minutes on scene before he was flown to hospital. He is in Mackay Base Hospital a stable condition.
