Bradford Closure And Marijuana Dispensary Agreements

Sonora, CA The Sonora City Council will vote on the final readings of revised development agreements with local marijuana dispensaries, Hazy Bulldog Farms and the Bract House.
The new agreements would require that the dispensaries pay a monthly fee of $12,500 to the city, or 7.5-percent of gross receipts, whichever is higher. The previous fee was $10,000 per month, or 5-percent of receipts.
The council will also vote on closing Bradford Street in the downtown area during the Sonora Chamber of Commerce’s Second Saturday Art Night events occurring on the second Saturday of the month through at least December. The organization is also requesting that the city allow beer and wine to be served at the location. Tonight’s meeting starts at 5pm ....

The State Board of Forestry decided to move the March 15, 2021 draft of Revised State Fire Safe Regulations ahead, without revision, into a 45-day public comment period, ultimately intending to adopt them as State law. This will dictate oppressive requirements for development and construction in our county. Within high fire zones (which the majority of our county and rural California fall under), if any type of building permit is taken out, the landowner would be required to bring roads up to modern standards all the way from their property out to the next fully-conforming collector road. This would be unattainable for most folks as the costs would be astronomical. Numerous parcels would instantly be (administratively) undevelopable, and therefore instantly worthless. Sonora Looks To Increase Marijuana Dispensary Fee

Sonora, CA The Sonora City Council will discuss several items at its meeting coming up this evening.
It includes altering the development agreements with the two local marijuana dispensaries, Hazy Bulldog Farms and the Bract House. The revised development agreement calls for the dispensaries paying the city a monthly fee of $12,500 per month, or 7.5-percent of gross receipts, whichever is higher. The previous fee was $10,000 per month or 5-percent of receipts.
The Council will also vote on identifying the long talked about Greenley Road extension project as a top priority project and urge the Tuolumne County Transportation Council to put it at the top of the list for future funding. The goal of the project is to reduce traffic on Highway 49 ....

Sonora, CA Last night the Sonora City Council voted to revise the agreement it has with the Hazy Bulldog Farms on Mono Way so that the business can sell recreational adult-use marijuana in addition to medical cannabis.
The item was discussed for over an hour. The city earlier expanded its marijuana program to allow up to three businesses to sell recreational cannabis in certain zones (downtown district not included). The change is anticipated to bring the city around $300,000 annually in new revenue. Hazy Bulldog Farms is the first business approved by the council. The vote was 5-0. ....
