Popular butcher shop prepares to open second location in Mattituck

Justin Aronoff was just a teenager when he learned the butcher trade. Now, seven years after opening his own shop in Nassau County, the proprietor of Center Cut Meats will be practicing his craft on the North Fork.
The popular Roslyn Heights butcher shop is opening a second location in Mattituck this spring.
“It just really seemed like there was an opening for what we do out there,” the Dix Hills resident said. “There are a lot of people going out there these days and we love the location.” ....

Stony Brook Medicine continues expansion to East End with new offices coming to Riverhead, Mattituck

Plans are underway for two new Stony Brook medical offices in Riverhead and Mattituck, expected to open this year.
Crews have begun working to convert the former BNB Bank space in the Mattituck Plaza shopping center into a new primary and specialty care office, according to Anne Walsh-Feeks, Stony Brook’s assistant vice president and chief operating officer for ambulatory operations.
She said the office will feature a core primary care practice for internal and family medicine with specialists like OB/GYNs, cardiologists and endocrinologists rotating in as needed. ....

Southold Blotter: Pedestrian avoids injury after being struck by unlicensed driver

Southold Town police cited a Mattituck woman for unlicensed driving after she reportedly struck a pedestrian on Pike Street Friday evening.
According to police, the woman was driving eastbound on Pike Street when she veered to the right and struck a Southold man in the right ankle and also struck a parked vehicle on the side of the road.
The man was walking across the street when he was struck and declined medical attention, police said.
The driver, who did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, is not facing any criminal charges but was issued a citation for driving without a license, officials said. ....
