Four Tri-Valley projects earn federal funding

Swalwell s other funding requests approved by House Appropriations subcommittees were:
$3.5 million for the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) project to update the Upper San Leandro Drinking Water Treatment Plant.
$1.7 million for the Alameda County Transportation Commission s Safe Routes to Schools mini-grant program. The commission is partnering with local jurisdictions by giving grants to support their efforts to implement bicycle and pedestrian safety and access improvements around school sites across Alameda County.
$1.5 million for Hayward s Stack Center. This youth and family center at Tennyson and Ruus roads will provide wraparound services to address inequities in the South Hayward community, including health, education, recreational and career training services. ....

Swalwell's Requests For Funding Granted

Alameda County â Nine of the 10 Community Project Funding requests made by Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-15) for vital community projects in the East Bay have been granted by the House Appropriations subcommittees, totaling $11.5 million.
âFrom safe and reliable drinking water to mental health services to housing the homeless, these projects will significantly improve the lives of 15th Congressional District residents,â Swalwell said. âIâm pleased that the subcommittees agreed, and I look forward to continuing the fight to have this funding passed into law.â
Under guidelines issued by the Appropriations Committee, each Representative was allowed to request funding for up to 10 projects in their community for fiscal year 2022. Projects were restricted to a limited number of federal funding streams, and only state and local governments and eligible non-profit entities are permitted to receive funding. ....

LIVERMORE, CA The city councils of Dublin and Pleasanton unanimously voted last week in separate meetings to join Livermore in jointly creating a Tri-Valley mental health pilot program, in partnership with Axis Community Health.
Dubbed the Mental Health Urgent Care Center pilot project, the program would be accessible to any residents of Dublin, Pleasanton or Livermore regardless of their income or insurance status. People could make same-day appointments for urgent care needs, and telehealth appointments would be provided during the coronavirus pandemic. ....
