Yamhill County Health and Human Services Director Lindsey Manfrin apologized today for an error that, for several days, indicated extremely high hospitalization rates for county COVID-19 patients.
“Yamhill County Public Health discovered that when pulling this data there were a number of people who were discharged from the hospital and this information was not accounted for due to the data system being used. The only way for us to accurately pull this data is manually,” Manfrin wrote in an e-mail to the News-Register.
As a result, she said, she has “made the decision to discontinue reporting current hospitalizations.” Manfrin had begun publicly reporting hospitalization numbers this week, but was sharing them with county commissioners earlier. ....

Updated Tuesday, 3:30 p.m.: The state announced Tuesday that Yamhill County, along with neighboring Polk and Marion counties, has been lowered from Extreme to High risk level, meaning that limited indoor dining, recreation and entertainment is allowed starting Friday, Feb. 26.

The Oregon Health Authority reported 184 cases for Yamhill County in the two-week period from Feb. 6-20, which would result in moving from the “Extreme” to “High” risk level beginning Friday, Feb. 26.
That would allow indoor dining at restaurants to resume with 25% capacity or 50 people, whichever is smaller, along with indoor recreation and entertainment activities. ....
