New tech adds $635K to Mifflin County tax base | News, Sports, Jobs

LEWISTOWN An additional $635,000 in revenue will be added to Mifflin County’s tax base thanks to new imagery technology available through the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency which brings property records up to date.
Laura Simonetti, geographic information systems director for Mifflin County, explained during the Mifflin County Commissioners’ regular meeting that every resident’s property tax in the county has been updated and field verified.
Simonetti said the updates were a result of what she referred to as “operation fairness,” an effort which she said started in 2016 to ensure that everyone is “taxed thoroughly and paying fairly” according to the property they have. ....

Community clinic should be ready with more vaccines

MIFFLINTOWN – Planning is currently taking place for a potential COVID-19 mass vaccination clinic in Juniata County according to the Emergency Services director Allen Weaver. During the regular meeting to the Juniata County commissioners Tuesday, Weaver said the county is in the early stages of planning for a community vaccination site so they are ready once more vaccinations become available. According to Weaver, the county is partnering with Family Practice Center, who will manage the vaccines and handle administering the shots.
Weaver said they are in the process of deciding on a location and looking for the volunteers to help with the clinic. A timeframe will be set once a location is selected, volunteers are in place, and vaccinations become available. Commissioner Alice Gray commented that there will be more information coming on a dedicated number for people wishing to volunteer and a phone system ....

Phase Two Forum, for those that have been appointed to represent their
organisations and other RWA invitees, at the ATP on 24
th and 25
th
July 2006. Organisations had only a couple of weeks to pull together their
responses and the short timeframe did not allow word to get out widely to users
of services. Organisations similarly did not have much time to get input from
their members and service users. As a result only a small number of submissions
