New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: India added 3,62,727 new coronavirus infections in a day taking the COVID-19 tally of cases to 2,37,03,665, while the death toll rose to 2,58,317 with 4,120 daily fatalities, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday. The active cases have increased to 37,10,525 comprising 15.65 per cent of the total infections. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 83.26 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 1,97,34,823 while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.09 per cent, the data stated. ....

Chandigarh [India], May 13 (ANI): Chandigarh has received 33,000 COVID vaccine doses on Wednesday evening for people above the age of 18 years, Adviser to the Chandigarh administration Manoj Parida on Thursday.
Speaking to ANI, Parida said, We received 33,000 vaccines via a flight on Wednesday evening at 5 pm, which we can administer to people above the age of 18 years.
He further informed that slots for booking were opened on Thursday afternoon and the vaccination drive will begin on Saturday morning.
Today we are opening the slots for booking. From the day after tomorrow, in the morning, we will start the vaccination drive. This drive will continue till this stock lasts, he said. ....

Centre allots 33,000 vaccines for 18-45 group in Chandigarh


Chandigarh, May 12
The Union Government has allotted 33,000 vaccines for Chandigarh to be administered to persons in the age group of 18-45 years.  
The vaccines will reach Chandigarh on Wednesday and the vaccination will be started to eligible beneficiaries from May 14 onwards. The beneficiaries will have to book a slot and obtain time and place of vaccine through CoWIN portal. There is no facility for walk-in vaccination.
UT Adviser Manoj Parida said in addition to the existing vaccination venues in the government sector, additional venues would be opened in a few schools, exclusively for this age group of beneficiaries.  The details of the venues will be intimated individually to the beneficiaries while booking the slot. ....
