David Samson/The Forum FARGO The Dakota Medical Foundation released Friday, March 5, the top beneficiaries of its record-breaking Giving Hearts Day last month. The drive raised $22 million, which was $2.8 million more than last year, for charitable organizations in North Dakota and northwest Minnesota despite the tough times of the pandemic. The annual event saw 42,272 donors, which was about 7,000 more than last year, making contributions to help 500 charity participants. For those organizations with the largest budgets, the top 5 recipients in order were the New Life Center for the homeless, YWCA of Cass Clay that helps abused and displaced women, Anne Carlsen Center that helps individuals with developmental disabilities, Oak Grove Lutheran School in north Fargo and the Great Plains Food Bank ....
