Appeal against notice after Horton Heath woodland torn down

1/1
AN APPEAL has been lodged against a council notice after an almost 100-year-old area of woodland was pulled down by a landowner.
Residents and leaders were left outraged when the owner of an area of woodland at Scoreys Copse, Horton Heath began pulling down trees without approval.
On the weekend beginning April 10, the area was cleared and trees were then collected and piled up before attempts were made to set them alight.
Action was later taken by Eastleigh Borough Council which included a stop notice and a Tree Replacement Notice which instructed the landowner that the trees that were taken down, some of which had Tree Protection Orders (TPO) on them, were to be replaced. ....

Galliard Homes: Concerns about Leegate Shopping Centre plans

Galliard started its consultation on the redevelopment of Leegate Shopping Centre this year
Local groups have raised significant concerns about the height of buildings proposed in redevelopment plans for Leegate Shopping Centre.
Galliard Homes recently bought the run-down shopping centre, built in the 1960s and once voted the worst of its kind in the country.
Its previous owners St Modwen failed to redevelop the site after a series of hurdles.
Plans from them in 2015, which included a large ASDA and getting rid of the public realm, were met with local opposition.
Despite this, the council approved their planning application. But ASDA pulled out, along with its funding, and the plans fell through.   ....
