The inductees of the 2020 TSSAA Hall of Fame were originally set to be inducted at the annual luncheon in April of 2020. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, that ceremony was postponed not one, not two, but three times. The nine inductees were officially recognized for the contributions to high school athletics at the induction ceremony that finally took place on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Murfreesboro.
The Daily Herald
One thing I can tell you after seven years writing for The Daily Herald is that you never know what to expect will happen year after year.
Much like the evolving changes within Columbia and Maury County, The Daily Herald has experienced its own transitions over the years. Some have been for the better, while others might have been a little trickier to adapt to. Including the recent decision to sell the former South Main Street office, life at the local newspaper has been anything but boring over the last year.
It s kind of ironic, considering we ve all been working from home for so long, which meant having to experience the changes primarily through emails, phone calls and virtual meetings. The Hall of Fame induction ceremony that was planned for Saturday, April 17, has been postponed one final time.
The Class of 2020 will now be inducted on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The induction ceremony is set to begin at 11:00 a.m. CST.
While TSSAA is hopeful that it can host the usual number of attendees, it may be necessary to hold the ceremony with a much more limited audience. The number of tickets available will be determined at a later date.
