Local company buying medical marijuana dispensaries in Bismarck, Williston

A local company is buying the medical marijuana dispensary in Bismarck from the out-of-state company that opened it 1Â Â½ years ago.
Pure Dakota Health on Monday announced its acquisition of Arizona-based Harvest Inc. s dispensaries in Bismarck and Williston. Neither company would disclose terms of the sale or say if the facilities were having financial problems. The dispensaries will open under the new ownership at 10 a.m. Wednesday. They ve been closed since Saturday.
âBeing locally owned and operated, patient safety is by far our highest priority,â Pure Dakota Health CEO Casey Neumann said in a statement. âOur employees are our greatest asset and we are very excited to add all of the previous employees of Harvest to our family at Pure Dakota Health.â ....

Several bills propose tweaks for medical marijuana in North Dakota

North Dakota lawmakers heard several bills on Tuesday aimed at improving the state s medical marijuana program for patients.
Voters in 2016 approved medical marijuana; the 2017 Legislature implemented the program.Â It has 4,450 active patient cards, with eight dispensaries operating in the state, including one in Bismarck. The state s first dispensary opened in Fargo in March 2019.
The bills would tweak aspects of the state s medical marijuana laws, allowing edible products, growing of plants and additional caregivers for patients.
