RVS becomes UK distributor for MOL VDK refuse vehicles

On 1 December 2021 Gloucestershire-based Refuse Vehicle Solutions Ltd (RVS) purchased the business of Kent-based HE Municipal Engineering Services and is now the exclusive supplier of MOL VDK refuse vehicles in the UK.
HE Municipal was established in 2004 to supply, repair and maintain refuse vehicles of all makes and models. In 2018 the company took over as the UK suppliers of MOL VDK refuse collection vehicles.
Spencer Law, Managing Director, RVS: “There are obvious synergies between HE Municipal and RVS, and I was approached by the owner of the company, John Sherwen, to discuss potential opportunities. We both agreed that the best solution for both parties would be for RVS to take on HE Municipal. Stroud District Council’s (SDC) waste partner Ubico has trialled the e-One electric refuse vehicle from Gloucestershire-based supplier Refuse Vehicle Solutions Ltd (RVS). The demonstration vehicle was repowered from a diesel-powered vehicle to an electric drivetrain and is one of the first full electric refuse vehicle conversions in the UK. The bin-lifting mechanism is also powered by electricity.
The vehicle, which was used on rounds in Stonehouse and Upton St Leonards covering 55km performed 1054 bin lifts and collected a total of 12.8 tonnes of waste. After 9 hours in operation, the vehicle had only used 71% of its battery life. ....

RVS awarded place on new HGV framework for electric vehicle conversions
Refuse Vehicle Solutions Ltd (RVS) has been awarded a place on a new HGV and Specialist Vehicle Procurement and Contract Hire Framework 2020 (LOT 2 and LOT 5) for the provision of electric vehicle drivetrain conversion systems, ranking highest in this category for electric refuse vehicle conversion.
The framework is the result of a tendering exercise by The Procurement Partnership Ltd (TPPL) in partnership with the North East Procurement Organisation (NEPO) and will run until January 2025. LOT 5 of the framework covers vehicle design, conversion, servicing, warranty, maintenance and training.
RVS launched its e-One electric repowering solution in October 2020 in partnership with Dutch electric power train developers EMOSS to convert diesel refuse vehicles into electric vehicles in the UK. ....
