Broadband, Kirkbride, Nelson Lake may get federal funding in Otter Tail County

Several major Otter Tail County projects are facing the prospect of getting federal funds, including the Kirkbride building in Fergus Falls, broadband expansion and fixing the flooding problem from Nelson Lake near Parkers Prairie.
Deputy Administrator Nick Leonard told Otter Tail County Commissioners at their Tuesday, July 13, meeting that Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith had chosen them from among the many projects submitted by the county.
He warned commissioners he didn t want them to get too excited about the prospect. ....

Three Will Vie for Two Seats on the Adams Board of Selectmen


 
Incumbent John Duval has returned papers along with former member of the board Donald Sommer and newcomer Howard Jay Rosenberg. The deadline for nomination papers was Monday at 5 p.m.
 
Duval is seeking a fourth three-year. The second three-year seat is open and had been held by James Bush, who died in 2020. The Selectmen decided against appointing a replacement to finish out the last year of Bush s term.
 
All other open positions will be filled by incumbents running unopposed except for Paula Wheeler, who is running for the open assessor position unopposed.
 
No papers were returned for an open Board of Health seat, three open Parks Commission seats, two Housing Authority seats and two Redevelopment Authority Board seats. ....

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - A new effort to increase lines of communication is underway at the Joseph Floyd Manor.
The Charleston County Housing and Redevelopment Authority Board in charge of the Joseph Floyd Manor meets once a month to discuss the issues inside the building and what’s being done to fix them.
However, at Wednesday’s meeting, board members and staff indicated the first they heard of that woman’s frustrations was on the news. They have since made contact with her. ....
