Geely, Baidu announce electric-vehicle venture

Chinese automaker Geely Holding Group (吉利控股集團) said it would form an electric-vehicle venture with tech giant Baidu Inc (百度), adding to a flurry of corporate tie-ups in the industry to share soaring technology development costs.
Geely, which also has separate electric-vehicle brands, yesterday said the venture with Baidu would focus on intelligent and connected vehicles.
It gave no details of investment or when products might be released.
Visitors look at vehicles produced by Geely Holding Group at the Auto China show in Beijing on Sept. 27 last year.
