Authorities identify 18-year-old found shot to death behind Hill Street Baptist Church

According to the Jefferson County Coroner s Office, that man has been identified as 18-year-old Tyreese Gober, of Louisville. His identity was publicly released Tuesday afternoon.
According to LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell, Gober was shot around 1:15 p.m. Monday in the 2200 block of Dixie Highway, near Harold Avenue, which is not far from Shorty s Food Mart.
That s where officers were called to the scene after someone reported a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Gober behind Hill Street Baptist Church with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was pronounced dead on the scene, according to Mitchell.

The Rev. Gregory Smith secretly helped pay tuition for some Simmons College of Kentucky students and applied love thy neighbor to his whole life, Gov. Andy Beshear said Thursday.
Beshear highlighted Smith, 69, who died Sunday from coronavirus complications, during his evening press conference.

Gov. Beshear Updates Kentuckians on COVID-19 WMSK

New recommendations, red counties; record cases while positivity rate declines for seventh straight day
FRANKFORT, Ky. (Dec. 10, 2020) – Today, Gov. Andy Beshear announced that public health restrictions will change Monday, Dec. 14, but said the state’s virus fight depends on all Kentuckians continuing to do the right things, in particular, wearing masks, social distancing and keeping gatherings small.
He reported the state’s highest-ever number of new COVID-19 cases; however, the state’s positivity rate declined for the seventh straight day.
“When we talk about COVID being a fast moving train, it doesn’t just immediately turn; you have to slow it down, stop it and turn it around. We still believe that’s what we’re seeing,” said Gov.
