Coronavirus in Asheville: What you need to know on Jan. 29


The addition increased the total in the state to 739,500 since the start of the pandemic. 
As of Jan. 27, COVID-19 deaths in the state totaled 9,046. 
In Buncombe County, another 129 cases Jan. 28 increased the new total to 13,017 and a total of 247 deaths.
Hospitalizations
Hospitalizations of COVID-19 patients across the state are remaining relatively flat, with totals dropping slightly on Jan. 27, the latest figures reported by the state. 
Statewide, North Carolina reported 3,238 COVID-19 hospitalizations as of Jan. 27, down from 3,305 on Jan. 26.
The state reported 372 confirmed positive patients admitted in the previous 24 hours.
At Mission Health, there were 125 lab-confirmed COVID-19 patients across its area hospitals, reported spokeswoman Nancy Lindell. ....

Hospitalizations
Hospitalizations of COVID-19 patients across the state dropped by more than 60 patients according to the state Department of Health and Human Services dashboard.

The state reported 398 confirmed positive patients admitted in the previous 24 hours.
