Islamabad: Pakistani mountaineer Sirbaz Khan has achieved yet another milestone by scaling Mount Everest (8848 meters), the tallest peak in the world.
The expedition was sponsored by the Serena Hotels under its Adventure Diplomacy. According to a spokesman for Serena Hotels, Sirbaz is on Mission 14, a quest to become the first Pakistani mountaineer to scale all 14 peaks over 8000 meters around the world.
Sirbaz uses no supplemental oxygen in his expeditions, which is a further testament to his grit and talent. We are proud to announce that Pride of Pakistan Mountaineer Sirbaz Khan has raised the green flag on Mt Everest. ....

Priyanka Mohite becomes first Indian woman to scale peak
Three mountaineers from the city scaled the 10th highest mountain peak in the world
Annapurna-1 on April 16. Bhagwan Chawale, Sumeet Mandale and Jitendra Gaware were accompanied by two climbers from Mumbai and an Everester from Satara, Priyanka Mohite (26). Incidentally, Mohite became the first Indian woman to scale the peak after the successful ascent.

Three Mountaineers named CCC athletes of the week


LA GRANDE — The Cascade Collegiate Conference announced its Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Athletes of the Week on Monday, April 12, and once again Eastern Oregon University had multiple athletes make the weekly list.
A trio of athletes — Max McCullough for men’s basketball, Kiley McMurtrey for volleyball and Cody Milmine for men’s outdoor track — brought home the weekly awards for EOU.
For McCullough, this is his second weekly award for the 2020-21 season. Last weekend, he had a pair of 20-point games as the Mountaineers split their conference home opening series against Oregon Tech. On Friday, April 9, he had 22 points on 9-for-16 shooting and grabbed five rebounds. In the Saturday, April 10, contest, McCullough scored 28 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer that lifted EOU past OIT at the buzzer for the 90-87 win. He shot 11-for–19 in the win to go along with seven boards and seven assists. ....
