But Haligonians are also asked to help root out the virus by getting COVID-19 testing: Public health wants you to get your nose swabbed whether or not you have any C19 symptoms.

N.S. man, 77, dies in highway collision, woman taken to hospital via LifeFlight


 
HALIFAX
A 77-year-old Nova Scotian man has died, and a woman is in hospital, following a single-vehicle collision on a highway in the Musquodoboit Valley area on Tuesday.
Halifax District RCMP say at approximately 10 a.m. on April 20, they received a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 224 in Cooks Brook, N.S.
Police, Fire and EHS attended the scene and located a car that left the roadway and struck a tree.
The driver of the car, a 77-year-old man from Greenwood, Musquodoboit Valley, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The female passenger was transported to hospital by LifeFlight with injuries believed to be non-life threatening. ....

A Nova Scotia man has died after the car he was driving struck a tree along Highway 224 in Cooks Brook on Tuesday.
RCMP were called to the scene around 10 a.m. 
The driver of the car, a 77-year-old man from the Musquodoboit area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger was airlifted to hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, RCMP said in a news release.
One lane of Highway 224 was closed for a number of hours while police investigated. ....

Elizabeth Joanne Thomas and John Zahl
Thomas and Zahl died in Portapique, N.S., where their home was among those set on fire. Thomas was in her late 50s and was known as Joanne to friends and family. She hailed from Winnipeg and fell in love with Nova Scotia on a trip during her teenage years, her son Justin Zahl said. After raising two sons in Albuquerque, N.M., Thomas and her husband retired to their dream home in Portapique about three years ago. John Zahl, in his late 60s, was originally from Minnesota and worked for FedEx before retiring and later working ....
