20 Under 40: Brittany Young returns home, helps lead Chamber in new direction

They say you can’t go home again, but Brittany Young has completely flipped that saying on its head.
A lifelong resident of Moffat County and a graduate of Moffat County High School, Young left for college to attend Colorado Mesa University, unlikely to return home after graduation.
Instead, Young turned the tables and found her way back home, landing an internship with the Craig Chamber of Commerce in 2019 before then becoming the executive assistant and marketing coordinator in 2020, helping shape the direction of the chamber in recent years.
Along with her role in the chamber, Young has spread her wings in the community, dedicating her time to working with Bear River Young Life, The Network, and more in Moffat County. ....

When Colorado’s greenhouse gas battle comes to her Wheat Ridge driveway, Jan Rose will be ready.
Rose believes heart and soul that if the state wants to hit benchmarks of 90% cuts to polluting emissions by 2050, Coloradans will have to drive less, and if they do drive, use a clean electric car. There’s opportunity to shape this community’s future through involvement on the boards. In a year in which Just Transition has had such an impact on Moffat County and other coal communities, we could really turn a negative into a positive and use 2021 as a full year of transition on a lot of things. ....

River access maps now available through Moffat County Tourism Association

Following a lot of work within the county to upgrade access to the Yampa River and really push the river as part of the tourism industry locally, the Moffat County Tourism Association – in partnership with the Colorado Rural Academy – now has a new tool for river users.
MCTA rolled out a new river access map, showing access points for the Yampa River throughout Moffat County. The map follows represents the Yampa River from Steamboat Springs to Deerlodge Park in Dinosaur National Monument.
The Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, Friends of the Yampa, the Craig Chamber of Commerce, the City of Craig and Colorado State Parks helped MCTA and CRA create more than 15,000 river access maps that are now available at the Chamber of Commerce. ....
