More than $5,000 raised for Massachusetts Special Olympics
If a friend told you to jump into the ocean in February, would you do it?
You might if you were a Marblehead High School student or a member of the MHS All Sports Boosters or the Marblehead Rotary Club.
Sunday about 40 high school students and volunteers took a Polar Plunge off Devereaux Beach to benefit Massachusetts Special Olympics and raised over $5,000 in doing so.
The Boosters have been supporting Special Olympics Massachusetts for many years and around this time are usually gearing up to support the Summer Games at Harvard Stadium. In lieu of the canceled annual event in which over 100 students generally volunteer each year, they chose to participate in the Polar Plunge. ....
