BOWLING GREEN, Ky. Two WKU women’s basketball student-athletes were recognized on Monday by Conference USA for their play against Charlotte over the weekend. Raneem Elgedawy was named Co-Player of the Week and Hope Sivori was voted Freshman of the Week.
Elgedawy played a major role in WKU’s sweep of Charlotte, a team that had not been beaten since Dec. 6 and was undefeated in conference play. The senior posted 26 points and 20 rebounds in the first game, becoming only the fourth Lady Topper to ever record a 20-20 game (points-rebounds) in WKU history. In game two, Elgedawy had 20 points and 13 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. She also dished out a career high five assists in the first game. ....
