United Way's Raymond named to state housing advisory council


HOLLAND  The Michigan State Housing Development Authority has named members of a new council that will examine the most equitable and effective outcomes for the state s housing agenda. 
Lyn Raymond, director of the Lakeshore Housing Alliance at Greater Ottawa County United Way, was named to the Michigan Statewide Housing Plan Partner Advisory Council. Raymond said the council, which features over 50 members from different housing-focused organizations across the state, will shape Michigan s five-year Statewide Housing Plan.
We ve only actually met once, but one of the things that we worked on was talking about what a successful plan should include, including input from a variety of sectors and ensuring that we have input from people who would benefit from a housing plan, Raymond told The Sentinel. Oregon housing, health agencies partner to address COVID-19 health inequities
SALEM, Ore. (KTVZ) Oregon Housing and Community Services and Oregon Health Authority said Tuesday they are teaming up to address COVID-19-related health inequities through a shared investment in more than 100 community-based organizations around the state.
“Health and housing are intimately linked,” said Andrea Bell, OHCS Director of Housing Stabilization. “This program is a critical tool to ensure urgent health needs of people experiencing homelessness and at-risk populations are addressed, including Oregonians disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 from Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Pacific Islander and Tribal Communities.”
The organizations were originally funded through OHA by the CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Funds and those funds are set to expire on Dec. 30, 2020. The statewide network of community-based organizations has served individuals in isolation or quarantine through ....
