COLORADO SPRINGS — To help Black-owned businesses rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Colorado Restaurant Association, Colorado Restaurant Foundation, and Planterra Foods have awarded $2,000 grants to nine across the state.
Planterra Foods contributed to the CRF’s Angel Relief Fund to divide funds among Black-owned restaurants to incentivize repeat dining through gift cards. Restaurants will use the funds to pay for gift cards to give to customers to entice them to return and dine again. Customers who visit these restaurants and spend at least $25 will receive a $25 “thank you” gift card to use at a later date. ....

Many of the people queuing for their Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress grants at Makhado post office came from out of town, some travelling as far as 87km to collect their payment.

Reading about the fiasco in the payment (or rather nonpayment) of the nominal R350 social relief of distress (SRD) grant to beneficiaries, I was again appalled by government s apparent inability to effect payment to indigent beneficiaries timeously.
The manner in which the distribution of this grant has been handled is shocking. The individuals responsible for the effective management of this process, should be ashamed of themselves. While living in government subsidised houses, driving subsidised vehicles and being able to enjoy three square meals daily, they fail to see that needy recipients of this grant rely on ....

The Sindh government has announced a one-million-rupee grant for the bereaved family of Pakistan Peoples Party activist Tariq Khan who lost his life during protests earlier this week.
The announcement to this effect was made by Sindh Law and Environment Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Saturday as he met the family of Khan at their residence in Baldia Town.
Wahab, who also acts as the spokesman for the provincial government, prayed for the departed soul. Khan was coming towards his house when a bullet hit him during the protests in the city. ....
