The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Sri City has selected six start-ups in various spheres of activity for grants to take forward their ideas.
The Institute has a technology business incubator to promote innovation and entrepreneurship.
A start-up using the artificial intelligence to develop an intravenous drip system for centralised monitoring and automatic stopping of intravenous fluid; a start up using IoT to develop smart green charging solution for Li-Ion battery devices; an aquaculture start up using IoT smart monitoring system for feeding and surveillance of aqua farms; a healthcare start-up using machine learning to develop an intelligent wearable device to retain and maintain human posture; an environment-based start-up using IoT to develop an indoor air quality monitoring and purifying system using hybrid green technology and a start-up using IoT to develop advanced soil monitoring and crop management syst ....

For some businesses, such as those in tourism and hospitality, the effects of the coronavirus pandemic have been debilitating.

reveals.
In fact, it was the best earnings season – when companies report their annual or half-year profits - in Australia for six years. Some 55 per cent of companies reported an increase in profits, up from 36 per cent in the earnings season six months early. ....

Lynchburg, Monacans get housing grant funds
Lynchburg is receiving more than $1.1 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for affordable housing.
The city will receive $718,593 through the department’s Community Development Block Grants program and $413,856 through the department’s HOME Investment Partnerships program.
The CDBG program “provides annual grants on a formula basis to states, cities, and counties to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities,” according to a news release from U.S. Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, announcing the round of more than $95.5 million total in HUD grants across Virginia. ....

Kenosha police, sheriff's departments will split $1 million federal grant promised by Trump, 60/40


The City of Kenosha Police Department and the Kenosha Sheriff’s Department are poised to split 60/40, respectively, the $1 million promised by former President Donald Trump to help cover costs associated with the civil unrest following the shooting of Jacob Blake by a Kenosha Police officer on Aug. 23.
“The city decided what proportion we got of the $1 million,” Sheriff David Beth told members of the county’s Judiciary and Law Committee on Wednesday. “After some debate of exactly who gets what, the city decided that they get 60 percent and we get 40 percent.”
The 60/40 split of this federal Solicited Law Enforcement grant is consistent with how the KPD and KSD split federal Justice Assistant Grant funds. ....
