Grand Korea Leisure Reopens in Two Weeks

Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) is a foreigner-only casino operator in South Korea. It announced that three of its casinos in Seoul and Busan will remain closed until February 15.
The extension of the inactive period was confirmed last Sunday by the government. The reason for that is the current coronavirus pandemic. The restriction aims to detain the latest outbreak of COVID-19.
Part of those restrictions include maintaining the second highest of the five alert tiers in South Korea and that is the Level 2.5 alert across Greater Seoul. The alert level for the rest of the country remains 2.
In the meantime, South Korea reported 305 new coronavirus cases, which is the lowest number in ....

CARBONDALE, Ill. – Sharon Bush, a leading voice for philanthropy in Illinois, will discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the steps needed to move the state forward during a virtual conversation in January hosted by Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Paul Simon Public Policy Institute.

Ms. Bedell expressed her disappointment in the Governor’s decision to extend his executive order allowing for the virtual registration for online gambling accounts and stated concerns regarding the ability to confirm the age of participants.
The second speaker was Dr. Sandra Bury, Mayor of the Village of Oak Lawn. Dr. Bury thanked the IGB for their work and briefly discussed the Oak Lawn amusement tax, also known as a “push tax,” in which a penny per push is taxed on video gaming terminal (“VGT”) plays. Dr. Bury stated that Terminal Operators (“TOs”) are not in compliance with the push tax and that the IGB’s silence has emboldened TOs.
