Members sought for new Paratransit Advisory Committee

WAILUKU A new Paratransit Advisory Committee being formed to improve paratransit travel is seeking members.
The committee will consist of six to nine members, who may be riders, caregivers, business owners, representatives of government and nonprofit organizations, and the general public.
The goal of the advisory panel is to provide a link between those who use American Disabilities Act paratransit services and Maui Economic Opportunity, which has the contract with Maui County to operate the paratransit system, and the Maui County Department of Transportation.
Paratransit services are available to persons with disabilities who are unable to ride the regular Maui Bus. ....

Virtual town hall to discuss South Maui projects | News, Sports, Jobs

The Maui County Planning Department will hold a virtual town hall on April 27 to discuss upcoming transportation projects in South Maui.
The meeting will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and will be livestreamed on the department’s “We Are South Maui” Facebook page. It is part of the South Maui Community Plan update process.
Panelists from state and county agencies will discuss future street improvements planned for the South Maui region and answer the public’s questions about the area’s transportation network. Topics will include state and county road projects to address safety and congestion issues, planned pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements, future upgrades for Piilani Highway and future plans for the Maui Bus system. ....
