Pono Life Sciences Maui operations in Kahului were closed on Tuesday. The state Department of Health issued a Notice of Violation and Order to Pono Life “due to the licensee’s ongoing failure to submit annual independent financial audits” according to Hawaii law.
The state Department of Health has revoked the medical cannabis dispensary license of Pono Life Sciences Maui, requiring the closure of its Kahului retail operations and medical cannabis production.
The Health Department said on Tuesday that it issued a Notice of Violation and Order to Pono Life Sciences Maui, LLC, and its individual licensee, Dr. William Mitchell Jr. ....

Maui Grown Therapies presents free Cannabis and Cancer Care webinar

KAHULUI Maui Grown Therapies will hold a free Cannabis and Cancer Care webinar featuring Dr. Donald Abrams, Integrative Oncologist at the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Medicine.
The live online event part of the ongoing Maui Grown Mana’o Educational Series will stream at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 11, and will include a live question and answer session following the presentation.
Before his retirement, Dr. Abrams was Chief of Hematology-Oncology at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, where he was a pioneer in HIV/AIDS care and research. Over his career, he completed research in complementary and alternative therapies, including mind-body interventions, botanical therapies, medical use of marijuana and traditional Chinese medicine herbal therapies. ....
