Police: Weapon used in Marco Island shooting in late March was a pellet-type gun, not a firearm Jake Allen, Naples Daily News An investigation into a Marco Island shooting that occurred in late March has revealed that the weapon used was a pellet-type gun and not a firearm, according to the Marco Island Police Department.   Rescue workers took one person to the hospital on the evening of March 30 with a hand injury after the shooting, according to the police department.   The shooting occurred in the area of 2nd Avenue and Marco Lake Drive around 8 p.m., police said.
